Donate to to the poor

Dear People of Walled Lake,

You should donate to the hospitality house because there are many people that need food to live. Why should you be treated any better than they are treated? They are humans and you are human.
The entire 5th grade of Walled Lake Elementary donated 970 pounds of food almost 1,000 pounds to the local Hospitality House. We did it because it is important to help all people and we don’t want anyone to die of hunger. Here are the times they are open: Mondays 12-8pm, Tuesdays 11-4pm, and Wednesdays 10-4pm and those are a couple times of the week that the hospitality house is open.
If you decide to donate food you should know not to bring perishable food. If you have a lot of money do not be selfish, share with people that really need that food. How would you feel if you were in their shoes and they were in yours? You would want them to give you money, wouldn’t you?
I bet you would. Please donate to the hospitality house and you will feel good that you did. If you donate around Christmas time this is there wish list cereal, cranberry sauce, jello, pudding, bottle water. And if you don’t have the money at the time to donate, offer to help out and volunteer your time. You’re not just helping the needy you’re helping yourself.
Michigan’s economy is down and people are losing jobs and more likely losing there houses. If you help the hospitality house you are helping children. If you don’t know the hospitality house has given food to 4,059 kids in 8 months that’s 8,118 kids in 16 months.
You will never know the people that you’ve helped. Some of these people you donate to could be neighbors or even family. That is why I am urging you to go to your local Hospitality House and donate!

Sincerely,

Stephen F.
